AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 9-3-14, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT THE SUPREME COURT SHALL APPOINT THE STATE LAW LIBRARIAN; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. Section 9-3-14, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:

9-3-14. The Clerk of the Supreme Court and the State Law Librarian shall be appointed by majority vote of the Supreme Court and shall serve at the pleasure of the court.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after the adoption and ratification by the electorate of House Concurrent Resolution No. ____, 1999 Regular Session.
